Keeping Busy

I can't tell you how many people have asked me this week, "Aren't you bored staying home all day?"  Actually, as this is really only my 4th day with no post operation or holiday/family duties, my answer at this point, is a big fat, "HELL NO I'm not bored."  In fact, I'm loving it.  When I'm home alone, I can always find something to keep me busy.  In addition to some much needed cleaning and helping my granny out around her house, I've been walking on the treadmill every day and trying to hone my skillet skills by frying eggs perfectly over-medium. It's a work in progress.

Also, I have been having a great time crafting with April and Nikki and found a cool family tree type project which required the scanning of some old photos.  I really love having these in digital format even if the quality is poorer than the originals.  Here are just a few:

Matt's mom Jeanie - don't you love the glasses?  Also the hair, how sixties!

Matt's dad Jim - so handsome in uniform

My dad - just a few years younger than Jim but you can sure tell it was the 70's

My mom - nobody gets married in doily dresses these days...

I'll have to post pictures of the finished project later.  For now, I'm off to start another project: the mountain of clean laundry on my bed isn't going to fold itself!

These are some way cool pics. I love seeing people's parents as 'youngsters'.

I'm glad you're keeping busy with projects; that's totally your nature; to find things that need doing. No such thing as a bored Skye.

I still find it so amusing and weird that in looking at pictures of our parents/grandparents etc., they seem so much older, so much more mature at the ages we are either at or passed by awhile ago. I don't know if that's some sort of "optical delusion" or what, but it happens every time.

Keep postin' what you find! Love it.
