Weird Wednesday ~ I'm With the Band
(Written Wednesday, published Thursday. Whatev.)

Here is another weird admission: I like to make up band names. In fact, I keep a mental list of those that I find particularly descriptive or amusing. I have fully and not so recently accepted the fact that I am too old and unskilled to ever *be* in band so collecting possible names seems even weirder. Still, it is amusing to pair a name with the genre of music that would best suit the moniker. Also, if ever anyone uses any of these, I’m hoping this post will act as “exhibit A” in my copyright infringement suit. Here are a few for your perusal:

Follow that Fairmont – ska (if it still exists)
Buckleberry Faerries – jam band
Ton of Yodas – obviously a Star Wars fan band
Circle Gets the Square – pop
Cosmic Alison – grunge (if it still exists)
Chester Copperpot – coffeehouse or 80's cover band
Those Fuckin’ Egg Rolls – I don’t know who would even want this for a band name but one time, we had some really good egg rolls from the Safeway deli. In the heat of the moment, we decided they’d be worth naming a band after.

So the question is, of course, have you ever heard a name or phrase and thought, "Hey, that'd be a great band name!"??

Bill S. and I say to each other a thousand times a day, "There's a great band name for ya." But I never think to write them down. And now, woman, you've given me the forum. Be prepared.

"Face-Time Continuum" is still my current fave.

The Rock Band band that gets played the most is "Juicy Bizness" and the close second is "Fresh Cut" (after Fresh Cut Flowers, or, the way Freddie's poo smells.)

And I think I may have mentioned this some time ago, but I love "Spider Nevi" as well.

I designed a CD cover for a band an artist/band I had to dream up for the project. Bellywelt. I suppose the music would be something all full of pain n shit. Whatever that genre is.

I will name my band after your egg rolls, if I find myself *in* a band, which is so very likely, considering my drive.
