Sequim Scramble

I learned over Easter weekend the extent to which my husband's family loves the sport of golf.  You see, Matt's uncle Bob built and maintained golf courses for many many years. That's was his job still and he plans to stay on a while even though he is eligible to retire. Having access to free golf, naturally all of his kids and grand-kids grew up with clubs in their hands. Even his dog is known on the links. The first time I met the Sequim Schoesslers was at a golf tournament, now that I think about it so I should not have been surprised when "Poppo" built a practice green and a four hole mini-course in his yard. Every Easter, they hold a family tournament for silly prizes (and bragging rights) called "The Easter Egg Scramble" which we were able to attend for the first time.  We are, however, NOT golfers but this type of tradition is just what I love about the holidays.  I got some bad camera photos but the poor quality shouldn't diminish the fun that was had.

Josh was the registrar and scorekeeper.  Seriously, these kids *know* golf!

Stay loose, Jules!

Kyle, playin' with his ball sack.

Obligatory pic of Nana with a beer.  Every. Year.

Bill stopped mid-swing to pose for this.  I think it hurt his overall score but look at that smile!

Fourth hole = It's Miller time!

The boys should be glad Kendra didn't participate.  She hit the cream cheese out of the ball!

Matt only lost because he was honest. And not terribly sober.

Johnny accepts the "green shirt" as this year's winner.

Dard and Poppo.  I love how they both sort of melt in to the couch.

Some of your pics actually look really cool - like you used one of those smart phone apps. I love the ball sack comment. So I wonder if Matt will play a little more straight laced to win the grand prize of the green shirt? I suppose there's some significance there...? Fun pics. So many relatives I've never met of Matt's!
