Since I've been out of work for about six months know, I've noticed that the dogs have become VERY accustomed to me being home all day. So much so that they throw little fits when I go against their wishes and actually leave the house. The latest example of this is this nasty can of dog food that they dug out of the garbage (the new, heavy stainless steel garbage can, mind you) and chewed up. The fact that it was in the garbage in the first place and had not been nicely rinsed and recycled should be evidence of it's utter funkiness. It sat out on the counter over night and got all crusty and gross so I just tossed it. Unfortunately, the stinkier, the harder it is for them to resist. You can't really tell but there is blood on this thing from trying to chew through the damn aluminum. The fact that they managed to avoid ripping their little gums open is what kept me from yelling and whipping on them. Also, I had spent a lovely day at Edgefield with April, Marian, Nikki and her girls so I was in a pretty good mood anyway. It did rain a bit which is not ideal, especially with little kids but overall, I think they enjoyed it for a 'grown up' sort of day trip. I love walking around the grounds and checking out their gardens. It is pretty impressive and always makes me want to buy some old run down farm and fix it up all cool and Bohemian-like. Since I can't afford it, maybe I'll just settle for a sleepover soon.
I love me some water towers
